This is what my Barney Post for Folli 8111 looked like
before I had Arthur Anosov reconfigure it. Note that the
cleat sticks out past the back end of the barney post and
that the step sticks up below it. My face would
occasionally meet with the cleat when tacking and the step
would get in the way. Being 6'3" I don't need the step to
help push myself out.

In the winter of 2005-2006 I unbolted the Barney Post and
sent it to Arthur to have the step removed and the top of
the barney post flipped so that the cleat did not stick out.
You can see the results based on the next couple of
pictures of the room that was created for the skipper.

The first time I tacked with the reworked Barney post
installed was the ultimate test. I could not believe that
amount of room that was there. If you are a large skipper
sailing a Folli this is something that will make you life a
lot easier.
I had the benefit of putting on a new boom at the same
time and I ordered it from Emmeti with the eyestrap moved
forward to accommodate the mainsheet moving forward.
You might notice based on the picture below that I am not
the first one to have Arthur make the modification for.
