The sections are made by the renowned composite spar makers, Southern Spars of New Zealand.  Lighter weight then regular aluminum whisker pole.  provides better performance in lighter wind and sloppy conditions.  The advantage is the weight savings especially on the ends of the pole. In light air and choppy water the jib leech will stay very stable downwind.
